The Vigon Method

I am a 66 year old male.  I underwent 6 Coronary By- pass Grafts in November 2005.  After my immediate convalescence I engaged Brad Vigon as my Personal Physical Trainer to prepare and supervise a program to establish a level of good health and well being which had dramatically declined prior to my surgery

Brad maintained constant contact with my medical team.  After 12 months I have not only regained a level of good health and physical strength I am even contemplating tackling another marathon.

Faster, stronger, longer.

If you love to run, you will relate to these 3 words.

I started running 6 over years ago but found myself spending quite a lot of time sidelined by injury and on the physiotherapists table.

A little over 12 months ago I was introduced to Brad. Initially I was sceptical about his claims but I decided to give him 'a go'. To my astonishment he quickly and accurately identified my physical weaknesses and developed a range of exercises to correct them.

Admittedly it took alot of hard work, but now I'm stronger and fitter than when I was 30 and can run faster for so much further.

Better still no more injuries!

You will struggle to find a better PT anywhere.

I have trained with Brad Vigon for 6 months at Chris’ Gym , Hawthorn.

As both a Physiotherapist and Mum of two young children, I have appreciated Brad’s enthusiastic and expert training. He combines many years of training experience with his elite ice hockey skills to challenge, motivate and vary my programme.

Outcomes of training during this period include:
• Increased awareness of posture: Careful postural assessment and subsequent integration of core stabilisers into my daily life has enabled me to better maintain correct alignment thus reducing the wear and tear of daily life and improve my overall shape.
• Better upper limb strength and endurance. This has improved my ability to cope with manual handing tasks of motherhood and Physiotherapy.
• Lengthening of shortened muscles: sustained stretching post-work out activity and encouraged home stretching routine.
• Increased confidence and motivation to manage the daily challenges.

Brad constantly challenges himself to find solutions to postural, strength and length problems. For example, I experienced lower back pain on sleeping on my back. Brad prescribed stretches for my erector spinae and psoas muscles and focused on deep abdominal muscle activation at the beginning of every training session. This abolished my lower back pain in less than 2 weeks and gave me the tools to self- manage this problem.

Brad takes getting it right seriously and he is constantly updating his knowledge and seeks advice from other health professionals.

When I first started training with Brad my goals were to enhance upper body muscle tone and improve my general fitness. I didn’t appreciate the importance of core strength, balance and stability and exercising to avoid injury. I’ve been working with Brad now for over three years and he has not only fulfilled my initial objectives but has taught me about the workings of my muscles and joints and how to maintain whole body fitness. Training with Brad I know I’m getting considerable experience and knowledge about how to maintain a complete healthy fitness regime.

Brad Vigon displays both knowledge and intent interest in bringing the body through careful training into balance.  Having Brad as my Personal Trainer has increased my physical ability and complimented my practice as a Hatha Yoga Teacher.
